X-Ray

A quick test that uses radiation to take images of the body, especially bones. It is commonly used to detect fractures or lung problems. The procedure is fast and not painful.

Fluoroscopy

A type of “live” X-ray that shows movement inside the body in real time. It is used, for example, to observe how the stomach works or how fluids move through the body. The examination is not painful.

Bone Density

Measures how strong the bones are. It is used to determine if a person is at risk of osteoporosis (weak bones). The test is quick and not painful.

Ultrasound

Uses sound waves (not radiation) to create images of organs inside the body. It is often used to examine the liver, kidneys, or during pregnancy. The procedure is painless and usually quick.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)

An advanced type of X-ray that takes multiple images and combines them to create highly detailed cross-sectional views of the inside of the body. The scan is fast and not painful, although staying still is required.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce highly detailed images, especially of the brain, muscles, and soft tissues. It does not use radiation. The procedure is not painful, but it can take longer than other scans.
